Who We Are.

Building Qatar’s Future,Since 1978

Holcim Cement Qatar is a premier cement grinding facility situated in Mesaieed Industrial City (MIC), approximately 40 km south of Doha — strategically positioned alongside Qatar’s principal bulk import port. Our head office is located on C Ring Road, Doha, placing us at the heart of the nation’s commercial centre.

Our Heritage
Our story spans more than four decades. Founded in 1978 as Aljabor Cement Industries and led by Sheikh Jabor Bin Mohammed Al Thani, the company began by importing Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) and Sulphate Resisting Cement (SRC) from Korea and Japan, establishing one of Qatar’s earliest dedicated cement supply operations.
As Qatar entered a period of rapid construction growth, so did we. In 1981, operations expanded to include bulk cement imports, and that same year, under authorisation from the Ministry of Energy & Industry, the decision was made to establish a local clinker grinding plant in MIC. By 1982, the plant was fully operational with an annual production capacity of 270,000 metric tons — delivering high-quality OPC and SRC in both bags and bulk to the national market.
A Global Partnership
In 2003, Holcim — one of the world’s foremost players in the cement and building materials industry, founded in Switzerland in 1912 — entered into a management agreement with Aljabor Cement Industries. This partnership brought global standards in production and distribution to our Qatari operations, reinforcing our commitment to quality at every stage.
In 2024, this evolution was formalised: Aljabor Cement Industries was rebranded as Holcim Cement Qatar, fully aligning with the global Holcim identity and its mission for sustainable construction.
